My name is Emily Sun. I am a marketing and communications professional with a passion for the written word.

A double alum of the University of Southern California (Fight On!), I earned a Master of Public Administration from the Price School of Public Policy and hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Aging from the Davis School of Gerontology with a minor in East Asian Languages and Cultures. While in graduate school, I worked as a writing consultant for the university, guiding undergraduate through doctoral-level students in improving their composition, persuasive reasoning, and presentation skills. I also taught workshops on topics such as constructing compelling arguments, building strong paragraphs, and writing with clarity.

My professional background includes serving as a constituent services and policy liaison in state government, supporting research and strategic planning as well as drafting policy briefs and legislative proposals. I am also experienced in consulting and nonprofit development, with past work spanning grant writing, print communications, and public relations materials, including press releases and pitches.

I am Chinese American, fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese. In my past roles, I cultivated and maintained relationships with mainstream and Asian community-focused media.
